Meaford, Ontario is located on the southern shore of Georgian Bay, within the Georgian Triangle region. A picturesque town with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, Meaford is a great getaway for relaxing. The town is known for its apple growing heritage and has a famous roadside attraction to prove it. Referred to as The Big Apple, this structure truly resembles a big red apple and measure 4.5 m (15 ft) in diameter and is made of spruce and fibreglass. The Big Apple is not only an eye-catching attraction but also houses the town's tourist information outlet. Outdoor enthusiasts will find some of Ontario's best hiking and cycling trails in Meaford and the surrounding areas, such as the Georgian Trail and the Bruce Trail. Other popular recreational activities include fishing in the summer and snowmobiling in the winter. Waterfront camping is a unique way to spend some relaxing time in Meaford.
